FLOOD - premiered by PopMatters.com on Oct 18, 2018 - is the first single to be released from Carnival Barkers (out in Feb 2019), the debut album from I Am Casting. The song’s sweeping melody is matched to lyrics that observe how fear of the ‘other’ can be exploited for political gain. The ‘flood’ might be feared by those in power and by those anxious about change, but to this narrator, the water is cleansing (“here comes the flood, to wash the banks of blood”).
